Indian Tandoori Style Chicken Recipe

We all love the taste of the smoky and lightly-charred flavour of tandoori and barbecued chicken. Outdoor grilling can be a fun cooking activity, especially when you are inviting your friends home for a sumptuous treat. Besides, it can be a healthier cooking option than other cooking methods such as deep frying, pan frying.
Preparation Time – 50 - 60 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 c plain yogurt
  • 1/2 c lemon juice (2 lemons)
  • 2 stalks celery, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 medium red onion, cut into 1/2-inch wedges
  • 2 tsp coriander
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 chicken, cut up or 2 split amusement hens

PROCEDURE

  • Combine all ingredients in a glass bowl or plastic container.
  • Close tight and refrigerate, turning infrequently, 4 hours or overnight.
  • Place chicken, skin side up 5-7 inches from medium hot coals.
  • Grill 50-60 minutes or until complete.
  • Turn each 10-15 minutes.
